MESSAGE FROM THE FORT PITT REGIONAL COORDINATOR

My Fellow Pioneers,

I hope this message find you healthy as we ‘march” into the spring of 2021.  The past year has been a challenge for all of us in so many ways and hopefully you and yours have not been affected by the COVID virus or other health issues.

Because of the virus, our volunteers were challenged to complete our assignments since so many of our projects require face to face contact.  This required us to get creative in communicating with our clients and come up with ideas for deliveries or set the project aside until a solution could be reached to best meet their needs.  Despite the challenges, we were still able to help 15 different agencies from food banks, animal shelters, military care packing operations, guide dogs, schools, Troopons and libraries.   4,852 hours were recorded for our volunteer time in 2020.  It was a fulfilling year despite the virus but we did carry over many of our historic projects that we hope to accomplish in 2021.

All of us here at Fort Pitt wish you a happy spring and healthy and active summer.
